Terence Wong, MD, PhD, right, meets with a patient before his PSMA PET/CT scan. Duke is a leader in this type of imaging, which is used in combination with a radiotracer to identify if there's a druggable molecular target. Collaboration between Bishop Ronald Godbee and DCI epidemiologist Meira Epplein, PhD, MS, MA
Collaboration between Bishop Ronald Godbee and DCI epidemiologist Meira Epplein, PhD, MS, MA, began in 2018 when Epplein tested 92 of Bishops congregants at Durham's The River Church for the presence of the Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). H pylori is a bacteria that puts Black, Hispanic, and Asian-American people at a higher risk for stomach cancer. Now, Bishop Godbee and Dr. Epplein are raising awareness together in a new video about the importance of testing.
