The University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center will host the 2017 Kidney Cancer Association Patient & Survivor Conference on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Duke medical oncologist, Daniel George, MD, professor of medicine and surgery and director of the genitourinary cancers at Duke Cancer Institute, will present “Adjuvant treatment of Renal Cell Carcinoma.” He will be joined by Duke's Sarah Wood, NP, RN, MSN, ANP, AOCNP, who will present “Managing the side effects of RCC treatment.”
The conference will review the challenges and opportunities of RCC treatments, while discussing the advances in surgical treatment, sequencing therapies and immunotherapies. As immunotherapies become a backbone of cancer treatment, researchers say biomarker assays will be critical to optimize the use of immunotherapies as single agents or in combination with other therapies.
This conference is free and open to all patients, survivors and clinicians. Registration is required. To register, Kidney Cancer Association Registration.
