The 17th annual Susan G. Komen Triangle Race for the Cure, presented by the Duke Cancer Institute, was held Saturday, June 14, at Meredith College, located in Raleigh. The event features a 5K (3.1 miles) or one-mile run or walk. Duke employees, as well as their friends and families, formed teams and raised funds to support the fight against breast cancer. To date, the event has raised more than $900,000 toward a $1.2 million goal. The Duke Cancer Institute, local presenting sponsor, hosts the fundraising team, Stronger Than Cancer. The team, captained by Jackie White, hopes to raise $1,000 this year to support the cause. To date, the team is at $580. Komen Triangle Race for the Cure will continue fundraising through July 14.
