Oncology CRU Spreads Holiday Cheer Door-To-Door

Whether coming or going the faculty and staff with the Oncology Clinical Research Unit are making sure everyone shuts the door with a heart full of good will and holiday cheer. Organized by Bonnie Vernarelli, research practice manager, the Oncology CRU recently hosted a Decorate Your Door For The Holidays Contest.

“The contest was completely voluntary and aimed to draw on our team spirit,” says Vernarelli. “We invited participants to demonstrate creativity and holiday spirit by creating seasonal door decoration displays.”

In early December teams and individuals registered to bedeck doors. Judging was held on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Winners received gift baskets from Southern Season. This year’s title-holders include:

  • Most Creative: GI Grinch, GI (Blue Zone subbasement 00550)
    Decorators: Stacey Snyder and Wanda Honeycutt
  • Most Heartwarming: The Misfit Reindeer Stable, Thoracic & Sarcoma (Blue Zone Subbasement 00541)
    Decorators: Annie Tsui, Deb Shoemaker and team
  • Most Holiday Spirit: Tie
