Instrumentation

PK/PD Bioanalytical Core Laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation for analysis of low molecular weight molecules: Three industry-standard liquid chromatography – tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) systems (Applied Biosystems API 4000 QTrap, API 4000 3Q, and API 3200 QTrap MS/MS spectrometers with Shimadzu 20A and Agilent 1100/1200 HPLC stacks), two HPLC-UV/vis/fluorescence systems (Waters 2695 modules and 2487 UV/vis, 996 PDA uv/vis, and 2475 fluorescence detectors) and one GC/MS (Agilent 6890 GC oven with 5973 EI-MS detector). Specialized detectors include: Laser-Induced-Fluorescence (Picometrics, LIF detector and dye-laser), and Electrochemical detector (B.A.S.). Other equipment includes: two 6-ft wide safety hoods, homogenizers (rotary, bead-beating, cryo-crushing), centrifuges, evaporators, etc.
