Duke Cancer Center offers spaces where our patients and their loved ones can relax and/or learn, made possible through the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program.

Patient Resource Center

The Patient Resource Center, located on Level 0 of Duke Cancer Center, is home to hundreds of educational books, CDs, DVDs, booklets and magazines, and knowledgeable staff to assist you. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 919.684.6955.

Restful Spaces

Duke Cancer Center offers spaces where our patients and their loved ones can relax and/or learn. These spaces are made possible through the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program.

Quiet Room The Quiet Room is a tranquil space located in the Duke Cancer Center Level 0. You and your family can take time to reflect, relax, meditate or pray. The Quiet Room inspires peace, quiet and spiritual meditation in people of all faiths. The Quiet Room is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Bernstein Family Garden Located off the Oncology Treatment Center Waiting Room (Level 4) at our cancer center in Durham, the rooftop garden features comfortable seating, providing a quiet place to sit, reflect and refresh. The garden is open Monday through Friday, from dawn to dusk.

Garden of Tranquility The beautiful Seese-Thornton Garden of Tranquility offers you and your family an outdoor space for meditative thought and reflection. The garden is conveniently located in front of the Duke Cancer Center. Seating is available. To honor a loved one within the garden, visit Garden Tribute.

Volunteer

More than 175 volunteers serve at Duke Cancer Center. Our volunteers provide conversation and comfort, offer refreshments and help patients find locations and resources. Volunteers play a critical role in the day-to-day activities at the Duke Cancer Center. For more information on becoming a volunteer, contact Matt Pennachi.
