Cancer Centers Invited To Participate In Hill Day (4.30.19)

The Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI) and American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) annual Hill Day will take place in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, April 30. Participation in Hill Day is critical to sharing that stable, predictable funds are needed to advance cancer research and care at our nation’s cancer centers.

A room block has been reserved at the Liaison Capitol Hill. The Liaison is located within walking distance of the House and Senate office buildings.

The Association of American Cancer Institutes encourages U.S. cancer centers to send at least one representative to Washington. Many cancer center directors whose centers are NCI-designated will be in Washington for the NCI directors’ retreat taking place on Monday, April 29. If attending the NCI directors’ retreat, directors are asked to plan to stay in the Washington, DC, area to participate in Hill Day the following day

Soapbox, a firm which specializes in coordinating advocacy days, will request and schedule meetings on your behalf with your legislators, making the day stress-free for all participants. Cancer center directors participating in Hill Day will be given priority meetings with Congressional leadership and relevant Committee staff. With over 100 new legislators in Washington, there is no better time to join us for Hill Day.

For more information or to register for Hill Day, visit AACI or contact Jaren Love at 412.647.2076.
