March DCI Seminar Series (3.24.21)

The March DCI Seminar Series, to be held on Wednesday, March 24, will feature Stanley R. Riddell, MD, the Burke O’Reilly Family Endowed Chair in Immunotherapy at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center at the University of Washington.
The title of his talk is “Driving CAR-T cells into solid tumors without exhaustion.”
Riddell is also a professor in the Department of Medicine and the American Cancer Society Virginia Hobbs Charitable Trust Research Professor at the University of Washington as well as a distinguished affiliate professor at the Technical University of Munich.
His research has focused on understanding the contributions of human T cell subsets to a tumor's protective immunity and on the development and clinical application of adoptive T cell therapy for cancer using unmodified and genetically modified antigen-specific T cells of defined compositions. His work has encompassed the discovery of target antigens for human cancer, the development of pre-clinical models of T cell therapy, and evaluating the adoptive transfer of antigen-specific and genetically engineered T cells to treat human diseases.
Riddell's lecture begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 9 a.m. The March DCI Seminar Series is presented by the DCI Immuno-Oncology group and is held in conjunction with Hematology Oncology Grand Rounds.
