After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Duke Cancer Institute leadership is once again preparing to present DCI Superstar Awards at DCI cancer centers in Durham and Wake County. The year 2020 marked DCI's 10th anniversary.
Michael B. Kastan, MD, PhD, executive director of DCI, and Robin Famiglietti, PhD, chief administrator of DCI, will host the Annual DCI Superstar Awards this November. The event celebrates and recognizes the achievements and exceptional service of DCI faculty and staff.
Supervisors and colleagues are encouraged to nominate exceptional faculty and staff — whether in clinical or research positions — for the coveted DCI Superstar Achievement Award. The winners will be announced in November. Awards are traditionally presented at the workplace of each of the winners.
“We encourage all to help put the spotlight on DCI's most dedicated employees,” said LeAnn Hinson, RN, MSN, divisional chief human resources officer, Duke Cancer Institute. "This is an opportunity to recognize colleagues who excel within their area of service and have gone above and beyond in support of Duke Cancer Institute."
The 2019 awardees included Hansel Bosarge, RN, CN IV, Clinic 3-2 (Thoracic Oncology, Duke Cancer Center Durham); Brenda Wilcox, RN, clinical nurse specialist at Duke Cancer Center Raleigh; and Jordan Carrera, PharmD, BCPS, Duke Cancer Center North Durham.
