What is the Purpose of this Study?

Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either standard treatment after surgery or standard treatment plus an additional radiation treatment called I²-PORT. Standard treatment may include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or no further treatment, depending on the participant’s medical care plan. Researchers will compare the two approaches to see if adding I²-PORT improves outcomes for people with non-small cell lung cancer.

What is the Condition Being Studied?

This study is for people who have had surgery for non-small cell lung cancer and still may have cancer remaining in nearby lymph nodes. Researchers are studying treatments that may help reduce the risk of the cancer returning or getting worse.

Who Can Participate in the Study?

Participants may be able to join if they are adults with non-small cell lung cancer that has not spread to other parts of the body and have remaining cancer in nearby lymph nodes after treatment before surgery and complete tumor removal surgery. They cannot have certain genetic changes called EGFR mutations or ALK rearrangements, must be able to carry out most daily activities, and cannot be pregnant.

Age Group
Adults

What is Involved?

This study is comparing standard treatment alone with standard treatment plus I²-PORT radiation therapy after surgery for non-small cell lung cancer. Researchers want to learn if adding I²-PORT can help prevent the cancer from returning.
