The Duke Oncology Patient and Family Advisory Committee (OPAC) provides valuable insights and support to oncology patients and families. The committee consists of patient and family advisors who volunteer their time to improve the patient and family experience. They engage in monthly virtual committee meeting and various projects and programs, offering perspectives on patient care initiatives and fostering a more patient-centered experience.
Membership is open to adults aged 18 and older. Responsibilities include representing the patient and family voice, adhering to Duke Health policies, and completing required training. The committee aims to enhance health outcomes, strengthen patient-care relationships, and provide a more patient-centered experience.
