Following our success in raising over $1 million in our first five years, in 2024 Tee Off vs Cancer began our march toward $2 million in money raised for the Duke Cancer Institute (DCI). We were thrilled to begin that effort by raising $242,000. The work continues in 2025 and we look forward to another strong result. We are deeply grateful to all our friends, family, and sponsors who recognize the important work being done at Duke and have so enthusiastically supported our efforts. The current move to sharply curtail medical research dollars flowing to academic institutions makes our work even more important and we thank you all for being a part of it.…

We all have family or friends who have experienced cancer. We know the heartache as both patient and loved one. One in two men and one in three women will develop cancer in their lifetime and 600,000 Americans die of cancer every year. This is the challenge that motivates us every year to raise money for a world-class organization devoted to research that brings hope to the thousands of patients it treats every year -- the DCI.

The DCI is a collaborative powerhouse at the center of a world-renowned university and medical center. The DCI unleashes the power of synchronous collaboration to create breakthroughs in new and innovative cancer treatments that are rapidly transforming the unimagined into the possible. Established in 1973, as one of the original eight Comprehensive Cancer Centers designated by the National Cancer Institute, today the DCI remains one of only 72 in the country with that distinction. The DCI, with its six locations, sees more than 66,000 new cancer patients from every state in the nation, each year. DCI is home to more than 400 researchers and physicians, and includes clinical and research partnerships in India, Tanzania, China, Singapore and across the United States. Notably, the unrestricted funds raised from events like Tee Off vs. Cancer provides funding for incubator level research and development projects that ultimately result in these new, novel and successful treatments for cancer patients.

We return this year to the Golf Club of Georgia where we will once again use both of their outstanding courses. A cookout lunch and refreshments will be available on the course. Golf will be followed by drinks on the patio where event prizes will be awarded. An online auction and drawing will feature items and experiences donated by many of our supporters. Finally, we expect to have two outstanding speakers from the DCI to update everyone on the extraordinary work being done at Duke.
